Derek Hanson. FCA FCCA.
Derek began his training in Bristol in 1965, moving to Clevedon in 1967 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1971. He became partner in 1972.
As managing Partner Derek has built up long-standing relationships with many existing clients across a range of industries and trades. He has a wide experience in personal and business issues as well as taxation.
Derek is well known in the local business community and is a past Treasurer of the Clevedon Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
Derek is a keen golfer and was President of Somerset Golf Union in 2003 and is the current Treasurer. He has also been Captain of Clevedon Golf Club.

Peter Newsham. FCCA.
Peter began his career and training with a Bristol based accounting practice in 1965. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1970 and gaining further experience in Bristol, Peter set up Newsham Hanson in January 1983, with one of his current partners, Derek Hanson.
Peter heads the firm's audit department and has experience of auditing various types of business.
He also has substantial experience of dealing with local farmers as well as general matters affecting many types of local business.
Peter enjoys travelling and is a member of the local Rotary Club and other organisations locally, several of which he has been treasurer of for many years.

Kirk Weatherley. BSc. FCCA.
Kirk graduated from The University of East Anglia in 2000 with a degree in Accountancy and Finance, and began his career with a firm in Bristol. Kirk moved to Newsham Hanson in 2001 to manage the corporate services department. Kirk qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2003 and was made partner of the firm in 2007. Kirk deals with all the general services offered by the practice although his expertise is in looking after owner managed companies, and the increasingly important world of information technology.
Kirk is a member of Clevedon Round Table, as well as the local golf club.

Neil Lovell. ATT.
Neil joined Newsham Hanson in 1990 from Ernst & Young. Having trained with a big four Firm Neil has a broad knowledge of all types of business activity from sole traders to partnerships and limited companies.
As Tax manager Neil specialises in personal, business and corporate taxation. He is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians having qualified in 1991.
Neil has an interest in almost all sports. Having played league Cricket for many years, he now concentrates on golf as a member of the local club as well as being treasurer for the local football club.
